2020 is a year that few of us will ever forget, because of Covid19. Our deepest sympathies to everyone who lost loved ones during this period. Our thoughts go out to those who have experienced Covid19 themselves, or have experienced family and or friends go through it.
It is good to look at the positive aspects of life during 2020.
Congratulations to Leah one of our senior therapists at Serenity Day Spa, who welcomed her second baby in March, a beautiful baby boy called Ollie.
A big thank you to my Staff.
I would like to commend all of my staff on their resilience and composure in how they stepped up to do all the training and learning required around Covid19 , as we set up work as a COVID19 Fort Knox, with lots of measures to protect clients and staff. Staff had to learn to work with all the safety measures and screens that we had custom made to protect everyone. The resilience shown by all staff , helped each of them to stay focused in the moment and to pay attention to the situation at hand. Resilience is often described as a factor that can mitigate against stress. My team showed the ability to adapt positively in the face of challenging times.
Being off for long periods was difficult for staff. Staff utilised the time to upskill and availed of all the training that was made available to them. Staff returned to work with optimism and excitement. We delayed on our return in July to allow time for staff to practice on each other to allow everyone be completely comfortable with the new safety protocols that had been introduced. Reception staff worked to ensure we were set up with all the pre-screening protocols that needed to be put in place to ensure that all clients and staff would fill in pre-screen COVID 19 forms prior to each visit every day. This continues to happen every day for all staff and visitors of the buildings. This has added another level of work to everyone's day , we completely support the need for this so everyone stepped up to ensure the tasks associated gets done.
This preparation paid off , as Clients kindly fed back lots of very positive reviews ,letting us know that they felt safe and comfortable with the safety measures we put in place. And I would like to commend every staff member for work done.
Award.
We were delighted to be shortlisted in @DLR 2020 Chamber County Business Awards in the New Business Entrepreneurs Award Category. This nomination was for the safety screens that we had custom made. I had these made for the treatment rooms because I felt that in order to be able to return to work with a level of comfort I needed to provide some protection for the staff and the clients . There was nothing available to use in the treatment rooms, so I had them made. I have since had someone fine tune the design and I plan on bringing these screens to market as I believe that these screens will be the norm going forward in our industry.

Save Face Accreditation
We were also delighted to become Save Face accredited in March 2020. Save Face are an English Organisation - A Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register. This involved quite a bit of work - and again a big thanks to the staff who worked to see we had all the requirements in place to receive the accreditation. There are only two other accredited clinics in Ireland. We will celebrate this when we get back to some level of normality.
Wishing you all a very happy healthy 2021 and thank you for the wonderful support you have always shown to us.
Nuala & the Team.
